On the west end of the bay where Playa Tejoncito is, Conejos is developed with an expensive gated residential
neighborhood, and on the east end of the bay the mammoth new Secrets resort has taken over the Playa Conejos beach. In between is the huge beach of Playa Arena, a favorite local secret, that extends for a half mile
without any development on it. There's no obvious place to park for Playa Arena, but you can just park along the road near it and hike out to the beach. The only downside to Conejos is its proximity to the mouth of the Copalita River, meaning the water
isn't as clear here usually as further to the west. On the other hand, the Copalita runs so low and clear in the wintertime that it's hardly
an issue then.
